Instead, I'm having a quiet evening, so I'm finally updating my lj.
A random selection of things since my last update (ages ago):
Isle of Wight
Yet again I'm going to fail to give a proper description of the trip to the Isle of Wight. However, as others have already given detailed accounts, this probably isn't a disaster. It was a great setting with some great company.
Lots of interesting games were played, and I also ran my first tabletop rpg for a several years. This seemed to go quite well, and I'm quite proud about keeping it short (total running time was just over 3 hours).
My only disappointment was that I didn't get quite enough time not gaming to see more of the island and just chat with friends. I'm still considering trying to organize a less structured gathering with more time for chilling, but I've left it a little late for this year now.
A bunch of us went on an excursion to Longleat.
This was good fun, though Longleat is rather over commercialised. Also, the large group of us got fragmented, particularly as the safari park is done in cars.
A few weeks ago, Templars' hosted the party for tpitm who turned out to be lathany in disguise.
It was great to see lots of people I've not see for far too long. The party was fun, though it was a bit of a pity that the convoluted invite system managed to annoy a few people.
Restarting Patchwork Universe
Patchwork Universe is back after the hiatus following the end of the beta test. Come and play. :)
Yet more games
wimble persuaded me to get World of Warcraft. After creating a character on the server he was on, secondhand_rick then persuaded me to create a character on Argent Dawn joining up with the guild there. I then completely failed to run into wimble for a week or so and tell him I moved. Ooops, sorry wimble.
I've also been playing God of War on the PS2 and the Xbox remake of Conker's Bad Fur Day. Both are very fine.
Last Saturday I went to waistcoatmark's party. It was good to see some of the London crowd, though there was a bit of a poor showing from the usual Oxford people, probably due to many of them going to Kew to see Jools Holland.
On Sunday we had yet another BBQ at Templars'. The sun was out and it was nice and relaxing, though quisalan and I failed to summon up enough enthusiasm or other people to go to the Hinksey outdoor pool which we had planned.
I've been feeling rather drained this week after the weekend. Hopefully I'll be feeling a bit more cheerful this weekend.
I'm also trying to get a bit more exercise in. I think I may go to the gym later this evening.
